Schultüten
In Germany since 1810, schultüten have been given to children who are about to start school, and it has now become a German tradition to celebrate the start of school year. Similarly, it has become tradition for PHS German I students to receive schultüten at the beginning of the year. Filled with treats and sweets, the bags were a great way to start off the year!

GERMAN hours
We began our monthly German hours in October. During German hours, members eat and socialize. In November, we had a game themed German hour and members chose from a wide variety of board games to play! In December, in line with the holiday spirit, we had a holiday themed German Hour. The club gathered in festive attire to decorate Christmas cookies, eat food, listen to festive music, and socialize with other members. It was a great way to kick off the holidays! German Hours were also a way to prepare for German Day competition.

OFFicer INvolvement
Throughout the school year German Club Officers are hard at work. They stuffed schultüten in the Fall, facilitated Nikolaus Tag in early December and went to the Hemby Children's Hospital for Halloween. Behind the scenes our officers ensure German Club is a success.
